Mansfield Township Recreation – Parks Inventory
Mansfield Community Park 40-acre facility located in the heart of Columbus off East Main Street. 20 acres have been developed into a very popular and highly utilized gathering place for all Mansfield residents. Regulation youth baseball and softball fields, a regulation Babe Ruth baseball field and outdoor batting cage. A paved 6/10 mile walk path, two regulation soccer fields, outdoor basketball and tennis courts, shuffle board and horse shoe pit, large children’s playground, and parking for about 100 vehicles. Plans are ongoing to construct a park support building with concession area, bathrooms, large public meeting room, and storage area to support township and recreation functions. The undeveloped 20 acres is contemplated to include an extension of the walking path with fitness course through a wooded area at the southeast corner of the property. Town Hall FieldLocated at the western end of Mansfield Community Park, features a regulation, fenced-in youth baseball field. A new feature at Town Hall Field completed in 2000 was the addition of a mural depicting an old-time baseball grandstand with spectators and sponsors supporting Mansfield Recreation. Hedding ParkLocated off Old York Road in the hamlet of Hedding, Mansfield Township. 10-12 acres that includes a youth baseball/softball field, two tennis courts, paved walk path, playground equipment, and large open space and picnic grove. Columbus Civic ClubDeeded to Mansfield Township in 1997 by members of the Columbus Civic and Recreation Club, a 12 acre site at the end of New York Avenue off of Route 206. Includes one youth ball field, one soccer field, a pond that is part of Craft’s Creek, and a building that is currently used as storage for the Recreation program. Veteran’s ParkSmall Memorial Park located on East Main Street adjacent to the township municipal facilities in memory of local residents who gave their lives for their country. Northern Burlington Regional School district and Mansfield Township School districtOutdoor and indoor facilities used in cooperation with the local Boards of Education for activities including basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, football and cheerleading practices and games. Future Park and Recreation sites: Georgetown Community Park A seventeen-acre site located off Route 68 in the Mapleton development. Will include lighted baseball/softball and soccer field, outdoor basketball and tennis courts, an outdoor roller hockey rink, concession and bathroom facility, parking, and walk path to roads. Country Walk ParkWill include walk path around aerated detention pond, ball field, tennis courts, and basketball court. Calton Homes developmentE-Town Properties Partial Open Space Inventory +/- 30 acres site at south end of Forest Edge development on Mansfield Road East. Site of future Mansfield Elementary School.+/- 11 acres on north end of Deer Path at Mansfield development, including ravine and stream corridor.
